Reflection on Paper

I found it fairly easy to write about this topic because it is something that could have a major effect on my family and I, so I see it as a formidable predicament that must be corrected. Everything I stated came naturally and I did not have to force anything in order to make the paper longer. To write the paper, I first thought about a topic that has the potential to influence my life directly. After choosing the evaporation of the middle class as my topic, I looked over notes I had from Inequality for All, a film that directly addresses the instability in wealth distribution in the United States. I also asked my mother, a middle class worker, for a firsthand opinion on the matter. Once I began writing, I saw connections between the topic I was writing about and topics that have been discussed throughout the semester of my Composition-105 class at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Through these connections, I began to see the bigger picture that my professor had possibly hoped the class would see; that typical citizens can create change in this world that seems to be heading in the wrong direction.
In writing this paper, I found myself to be more caring of my surrounding environment than I had originally thought. Before, I thought I only needed to worry about topics that pertained to me, but I now see that all the problems in the world can influence me in one way or another. Writing this paper allowed me to grow as a person in every aspect one can grow.
I also realized the world isn’t as perfect as I had once thought. There are so many problems that go unnoticed by the general public every day. It really opened my eyes to the various forms of inequality that we face every day in American society. Yet, it is facing these inequalities in which leaders are born.
Writing this paper also helped me grow as a writer. I am now able to support my arguments better by using valid examples, and a solid foundation. I also learned how to introduce a paper in a way that will interest the reader and keep them reading the entire paper.  I believe that my future writings will intrigue readers. I will be able to support any topic through possible personal experiences and good supporting examples.
